"Renewable Enegy"

JUET, Guna (M.P.) organized a 5-day IUCEE FDP on Renewable Energy from June 4-8, 2012. Dr. T. Agami Reddy, SRP Professor of Energy and Environment, School of Sustainable Engineering in the Built Environment and The Design School, Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ, U.S.A delivered most of the lectures in the FDP. Professor N. J. Rao, Vice Chancellor, JUET, Guna delivered inaugural address on "Energy from industrial waste - a case study from paper and pulp industry".

Dr. Agami delivered very effective and informative lectures on various topics such as basics of solar energy, solar energy applications, sun-earth geometry and extra-terrestrial radiation, terrestrial solar radiation and radiation on tilted and tracking surfaces, low/medium temperature solar thermal collectors and systems, solar concentrators, solar thermal systems for electricity generation (CSP), solar photo voltaic (PV) cells and modules, and green buildings. Some faculty members of the university have talked about biomass energy, wind energy and hydro energy. Total 48 participants, including two candidates from SR Engineering College, Warangal attended the FDP.
