A Brief Report of the Symposium/ Conference

The 17th Annual Conference of Gwalior Academy of Mathematical Sciences & National Symposium on Computational Mathematics and Information Technology was organized at Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology, Guna from 7th - 9th Dec, 2012.

The conference was inaugurated on 7th Dec 2012 by Prof. KNS Yadav, Vice Chancellor, Rani Durgawati University Jabalpur. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Prof. N J Rao, VC (JUET). Prof D S Hooda, Convener of the Conference, Dean Research welcomed the chief guest and delegates. Prof. Shishir Kumar, Organizing Secretary of the conference proposed the vote of thanks.

The conference staged to discuss the themes of Recent Developments in Computational Mathematics and Information Technology started with an exciting note of enthusiasm with the presentation of keynote address by Prof Karmeshu on Long Range Dependence in Broadband Networks.

The Conference echoed a wide response with around 150 delegates traversing long distance from 11 states.

Six plenary and 24 invited talks were organized in which eminent mathematicians and IT academicians delivered very thought provoking lectures.

Prof. V P Saxena, Prof. R K Dutta, Prof. Durgesh Pant, Prof. B.D. Sharma, and Prof. M.A. Pathan delivered the plenary talks and in the process suggested some new fields of research which can be pursued by the young researchers attending the conference. Prof. Durgesh Pant has presented an enthusiastic and novel issue of V-Governance.

The conference also witnessed invited lectures by eminent speakers, each of them being named to reckon with in their respective fields of specialization. About 90 papers were presented in 8 contributory papers  sessions of Mathematics and 11 contributory paper sessions of IT.

To give a lighter mood to the otherwise jam-packed itinerary and back to back sessions, a colorful event Shaam-e-Ghazal was organized in the evening of 7th Dec 2012. The delegates and residents were entertained by Sri Rajendra Parikh jee and his team.

The gathering of participants and Invited Speakers as well as conference organization was well appreciated by eminent personalities.

The conference and symposium came to close with Valedictory Function on the final day everyone agreed that the conference succeeded in providing Intellectual, Stimulus and Sustenance to everyone participating in the conference.
